Job description

As a leader in the catholic renewal community where I belong, I am sometimes invited give talks before the actual speaking engagement. On some occasions, I am invited to give a talk a day or just hours before. But whether the opportunity to speak god's message is given to me a head of time or just in time, as an "employee" of Christ in the business of evangelization, I make myself ready to deliver the talk for three reasons. First,its in my job description and is implicitly stated in my contract (a.k.a. our community covenant). Second, I was employed by God to perform this job because of gifts I received from him.I'd be shortchanging Him if I don't give my all to serve Him and my brethren. Lastly, my contribution is important to the success of the business of spreading the Good news of the Lord. At the end of my days, I hope to receive a pat on the back from our "Big Boos" for a job well done.
